Do I need any experience to join?
No — all courses are beginner-friendly. If you’ve tried an app or read a little, that’s fine too, but no prior knowledge is needed.
Do I need to be flexible or physically fit?
Not at all. Mindfulness is not a workout — it’s about cultivating awareness, whether in stillness or gentle movement. Practices are usually done seated, with options to lie down or stand, and you don’t need any special level of fitness.
What If I Struggle To Concentrate or feel calm?
That’s normal! The mind naturally wanders. Mindfulness is not about never wandering but noticing when you’ve drifted—with kindness. There’s no wrong way to practice.
What if I feel anxious in groups or new settings?
That’s completely understandable. You’re welcome to participate at your own pace — listening, muting (online), or sitting back is absolutely fine. Most people find comfort in knowing they’re not alone, and the group grows into a supportive environment.
What do I need to bring in person?
Just yourself. Practices are typically done seated, and chairs are provided. You’re welcome to wear comfortable clothes and bring a cushion or water bottle if you’d like.
Can I join online? What do I need?
Yes. Some courses are also offered on Zoom. You only need a device with internet and a quiet, private space. You’ll get a simple link before the session. You can mute your microphone or turn off your camera if you need to.
Is mindfulness the same as yoga?
Not exactly. While yoga can be practised mindfully, mindfulness itself is not an exercise. In these courses, the focus is on guided meditation and everyday awareness, not physical postures. You are not expected to maintain a complicated posture or remain still - you are encouraged to make yourself comfortable, while remaining present and aware.
Is mindfulness Religious?
No. While mindfulness has roots in Buddhist traditions, the courses I teach are secular and evidence-based. People from all backgrounds and beliefs are welcome.
Is mindfulness safe for everyone?
For most people, mindfulness can be very supportive. But if you’re currently experiencing severe depression, recent trauma or bereavement, or intense social anxiety, a group course may not feel suitable right now. Everyone’s situation is different, so please contact me if you’re unsure — we can talk it through together.
I’ve tried mindfulness apps. Why join a course?
Apps and books are a great start, but many people find it hard to keep going alone. In a course, you get structure, guidance, and the support of practising with others. This often makes the practice easier to sustain — and more rewarding.
Is mindfulness therapy or a Replacement For Medical Support?
Mindfulness is often life-enhancing, but it’s not therapy. If you’re experiencing intense psychological or medical issues, it may support you in coping—but it doesn’t replace professional treatment.
Can I pay in instalments?
Sometimes — if you're motivated to attend but facing financial hurdles, please get in touch. Whenever possible, we’ll find a plan that works for you.
What if I need to cancel?
If you cancel more than 14 days before the course, you’ll receive a refund (minus a small admin fee). Within 14 days of booking, the booking is non-refundable. Full details are in the Terms & Conditions.
